Effect of infliximab in sweet’s syndrome-pyoderma gangraenosum overlap syndrome

چکیده
Introduction Both Sweet’s syndrome and pyoderma gangraenosum are neutrophilic dermatoses with abrupt onset of painful skin lesions. In Sweet’s syndrome systemic symptoms such as fever, headache and leucocytosis together with painful skin papules are often seen. Corticosteroid therapy is often sufficient treatment. Pyoderma gangraenosum is characterized by the development of painful ulcerative skin lesions and can be managed with anti-TNFa (infliximab).

Pyoderma gangraenosum associated with autoimmune thyreopathy and hyperandrogenic syndrome.
An unusual clinical appearance and course of pyoderma gangraenosum (PG) in a 35-year-old woman is presented. Signs of both the ulcerative and vegetative forms of PG were expressed. The association of two systemic diseases, the autoimmune thyreopathy and the hyperandrogenic syndrome were observed in a female. The recommended conventional therapy for PG: corticosteroids, antibiotics, cyclosporine...

RD Sweet first described an acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis in 1964 characterised by acute onset, fever, leucocytosis, and erythematous plaques. Skin biopsy specimens show infiltrates consisting of mononuclear cells and neutrophils with leucocytoclasis, but without signs of vasculitis. Sweet’s syndrome is frequently associated with solid malignancies or haemoproliferative disorders, but a...
